Participate in the elaboration of the Valois Code by completing the survey or adding buildings, front yards and public spaces (e.g., sidewalks, bike paths and streets) you find attractive, and those that could benefit from being transformed, updated or developed, to the interactive map.

Aiming to make the Valois Village a friendly, vibrant, accessible and safe living environment, and an even more appealing local commercial destination, a new project was launched in 2016 when the City teamed up with Convercité, experts in public participation and commercial revitalization, to conduct a diagnosis of the Village’s strengths, weaknesses, limits and opportunities, and identify the main urban planning and developments issues facing the Village. The first stage involved the participation of citizens, business owners and community organizations. This diagnosis became the basis for the elaboration of a Special Planning Program (SPP).

During the second stage of the project, the City teamed up with BC2, a firm specialized in urban planning and development, to write the SPP. In February 2017, the preliminary version of the document was presented to the community at a public consultation and the SPP was adopted shortly thereafter, in May 2017, by City Council.

The SPP came into force in September 2017 and the City began implementing it at that time.
