Aiming to make the Valois Village a friendly, vibrant, accessible and safe living environment, and an even more appealing local commercial destination, a new project was launched in 2016 when the City teamed up with Convercité, experts in public participation and commercial revitalization, to conduct a diagnosis of the Village’s strengths, weaknesses, limits and opportunities, and identify the main urban planning and developments issues facing the Village. The first stage involved the participation of citizens, business owners and community organizations. This diagnosis became the basis for the elaboration of a Special Planning Program (SPP).

During the second stage of the project, the City teamed up with BC2, a firm specialized in urban planning and development, to write the SPP. In February 2017, the preliminary version of the document was presented to the community at a public consultation and the SPP was adopted shortly thereafter, in May 2017, by City Council.

The SPP came into force in September 2017 and the City began implementing it at that time.

On the map, select the buildings, front yards and public spaces (e.g., sidewalks, bike paths and streets) you find attractive, and those that could benefit from being transformed, updated or developed.

The City of Pointe-Claire wants to hear your comments about the buildings, front yards and public spaces in Valois Village, in preparation for the development of the Valois Code.

The Valois Code will be the village’s new urban reference document. This simple guide will provide owners and the community with the regulatory support to create an increasingly harmonious and dynamic living environment.

This online consultation was set up following the adoption of the Special Planning Program (SPP) for Valois Village in 2017, and in relation to the safety audit and participative workshop held on Thursday, July 4.

Thank you for sharing your opinion on the buildings, front yards and public spaces in Valois Village. The consultation is now finished.
